Jason Moss:
Hey Jason Moss here. And today I’m going to show you how to make a redirect inside of your name, cheap account. Okay? So the first thing you’re going to want to do is log into your name, cheap account, and go to the domain that you want to make the redirect on. Okay? For this example, I’m using Moss technologies.co. Now I’m using a redirect because I just made a G suite account for this. I’ll be sending mail from it, but my actual domain is Moss tech.org so if someone gets an email from jason@mosstechnologies.co all right. And they, they go to Google and type in Moss technologies.co. I want that to actually go to my website. Okay? And that’s what I’ve done here. So once you go to the domain, it’s on this main tab. You go down to redirect domain. I’ve already put these in here. So this is the the route direct.
Jason Moss:
So anybody that types in Moss technologies.co gets redirected to Moss tech.org. Okay. And if someone types in www.mosstechnologies.co they get redirected as well. And then I also put in a wildcard redirect just in case. I mean it’s real simple. They, it’s just one click there. So wildcard redirect is like if someone did any other sub domain other than www dot. So maybe they put in like M. Dot. Moss technologies.co like maybe they’re searching for a mobile version of the website for some reason. If they did that or anything hello dot. Or whatever it could be any sub domain, it still gets redirected to Moss tech.org. Okay. So it’s very simple. You just click on this add redirect and you just type it in. I would always, always, always do the route and do the WWE w www dot version of your domain of what you want forwarded.
Jason Moss:
So and you just type it in very simple. And then you type in where you want it to go. Make sure that you do put, if you have a secure website, make sure you do put HTTP S okay. Or if it’s not secure, just HTT P. All right. And you can send them, if you want him to go to your, if you have, if your website is set up for www dot or some peoples, they don’t use the WWE version. All right? Just make sure it is correct. Go to your website and then just copy it out of the URL window here so that, that’s the easiest way of doing it. Hit the check Mark. It saves the changes, everything’s good to go. Also, you are familiar with other registrars, okay. That you have to put in like host records. Okay. When you enter everything in here on this side of the redirect domain, if you go over to advanced DNS, you will notice that they put in the host records for you automatically.
Jason Moss:
Okay? So you don’t have to enter these in. This is the the, the wild card. This is the route version and this is that www version. Okay. So everything is put in here automatically for you. That’s one reason I do like Namecheap. I buy just about everything, all my domain straight through, name cheap. And if you want a link below to Namecheap there, there is a link below in the description to where you can go get your own domain. But if you’ve got questions or comments, leave them below. I am happy to help out, but thanks guys and I’ll see you in the next video.
