These are the businesses that “hide” their address in Google Maps so Google’s ID finder tool doesn’t work for them. You will need Google Chrome browser. Hey guys, Jason Moss here. And today, I’m going to show you how to find your Google places, ID number that’s for like your Google, my business. A lot of times when you’re trying to use different apps or maybe like a WordPress plugin that pulls in your Google reviews to your website and there’s a lot of other things that use the places ID you need that places ID and that’s straight from Google. Okay. And it can be a little difficult to find it. Now, Google does give us a tool. Okay. And I’ll leave a link below in the description, but this is their developer tool and you can go and find the places IDs. Now this only works. Okay. If your business alright, shows your address in Google my business. Okay. So like for instance, here’s my example. All right. We did a search for H HVAC repair, Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
Jason Moss (01:00):
Alright. And you’ll see a Hill tech and watch let’s use Lycoming and Forsberg here. Okay. Because I have the tabs over here. Lycoming shows their address. All right. As you can see, here’s their address? 1575 Frederick Avenue. Now, if we go over to the places ID tool and we search like homing a heating, was it okay? You’ll see that they pop up. Okay. And you can find their places ID. Very, very simple. All right. 1575 Frederick Avenue. Now, if you go to this other one, Forsberg, furnace and air. Okay. You’ll see that they do not have an address and you’ll see that they’re showing a service area. Okay. Now, because they’re doing that, the places ID won’t show up. So if you go to Forsberg furnace, let’s go back over to the tool and go to Forsberg furnace. You’ll see that they don’t even show up.
Jason Moss (01:58):
It’s like they don’t exist. All right. So how do you find that place as ID for it? Okay. This is how you do it. So you search your business. Let’s say we’re Forsberg furnace here. And when this comes up on the right hand side, this is your knowledge graph. All you do is right. Click on it. Okay. And this is in Google Chrome. You gotta be in Google Chrome, right. Click on it. And we’re going to hit inspect. Okay. And you’re going to have a window pop up. That looks kind of crazy. All right. And all we’re going to do. I’m on PC. So I’m going to hit control F so we’re going to use the find function. All right. And you’ll see down here, we’re going to type in data dash

All right. And you’ll see it highlights it in data PID. This is right here. This is the places ID for the first Berg, Forsberg, furnace, and air. So that’s how you do it. It’s a little complicated if you’re hiding your address, but that is the places ID that you’ll need for whatever app that you’re using or plugin that’s needing that places ID number. I hope that helps. If you’ve got questions, leave them below. I’m happy to help. If this video was helpful, please hit the subscribe and hit that notification button. Give me a thumbs up.
